5th Grade Science and Social Studies Syllabus
Course Description:
In this class, we will adhere to the Alabama Next Gen State Standards. We will complete projects, experiments, and other graded assignments to enhance our understanding of science and social studies concepts. Examples; American Revolution, Gravity and motion
Course Objectives:
Strictly follow the NEXT GEN. state approved standards from the Course of Study provided by the Alabama State Department of Education
Understand and apply key concepts in science and social studies.
Develop skills in conducting experiments and completing projects.
Engage in critical thinking and problem-solving activities.
Collaborate with peers on group assignments.

Pencils
Paper
Crayons
Colored pencils
Chromebooks
Interactive journals
Grading Policy:
Tests: 50%
Quizzes: 35%
Classwork: 15%
Class Policies and Expectations:
Students are expected to participate actively in class discussions and activities.
All assignments must be completed on time.
Respect fellow classmates and their opinions.
Follow classroom rules to create a positive learning environment.
