Welcome to the E D Houston Library Media Center and UA classes!
I am excited to have you come to the library to checkout and as a member of my UA classes this year. Below, you'll find the syllabus outlining what to expect in the coming year.
Library Media Center Overview- Learners will:
- Investigate different genres of books
- Read books both hardcopy and online
- Write and Research in conjunction with their classroom subjects
- Explore STEAM center activities
UA course studies:
Many of the activities done in the UA library media class will be coordinated with your regular classes to help reinforce the subject matter. Books, authors, and illustrators will be explored, along with research and writing. Creative projects using art will also be included in our classes as well.
Expectations
- Participate actively in class and activities.
- Complete assignments on time.
- Follow UA Library Media Center rules
UA Library Media Center Syllabus
Course Overview
This course will focus on reading, writing skills, and research in conjunction with the classroom teachers. All types of books such as dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias will be used. STEAM centers, art projects, and technology will also be incorporated into our classes.
Expectations
- Engage in class discussions and activities.
- Complete assignments and projects on time.
- Be respectful of teachers and classmates.
Every homeroom has a scheduled time to visit the Library Media Center for checkout

Attendance
- Regular attendance is important to keep up with activities.
Behavior
- Respectful behavior is expected at all times. Disruptive behavior will be addressed according to the school’s discipline policy.
